CarTV Sport Compact Car Comparison Test

What does Sport Compact performance really mean. We put four of these little speedsters to the test. Competing for the title: From Japan we have two entries…the Honda Civic Si, and the Supercharged Scion TC, representing Germany its the Volkswagen “Obey your fast” GTI, and from the good old USA its the Supercharged Chevy Cobalt wearing the SS badge. Each contestant was fitted with front-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a four-cylinder engine that makes around 200 horsepower. Here is how they did…

true… the thing that gets me the most is the weight of the car, which doesnt help handling. sometimes i just want to rip out my back seats and everything else that has mass! but on the bright side you can buy new springs for under $200 and strut bars(additional 200?) would also help.

Mazda?..lmao. I eat those all the time in my 08 Civic Si. I also leave TCs in my rear view mirror. The Cobalt is just flat out ugly and cheap looking. Haven’t raced one yet but it wouldn’t scare me in the least. Next?

i own a mazdaspeed 3. im not saying the gti is a bad car. their style is lovely, and their interior is amazing. but for the money, i bought the speed. and i would never change my decision.

Why didn’t they include the Mazdaspeed3? Overall, the best sports compact for the money, in my opinion. Practical, stylish, turbo, fast, quality, and loads of standard features in the GT model.

ALL THOSE CARS HAVE A SOME SORT OF FORCED AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM (super charger- turbo) EXCEPT ONE……..CAN ANYONE GUESS? hint: (it scored # 2 on this test)

the thing that kills the tC in weight though is the sun roof. the handeling would be comparable to these other cars if it wasnt for that 160lbs glass roof, thats where the body roll comes from.
si guys answer this for me, is there a difference in the 06-08 si’s and 09’s (interior wise) cuz i was in an 09 si and the interior is cheap, way to much plastic, no material (mainly on the door) except for the seats and leather wrap steering wheel. and it rattles inside.

i have a gti & it sucks, its the nices car on earth but when i bought it it had a lot of problems & its getting worse so im selling it, but it is a great car when its okay, not like mine(its all mess up) ]:

sounds like a mustang loving doosh talking. they are all very clean cars. obviously this guy isnt much into the import tuner world. this video states more opinions than facts.
